Ambit Energy, which was rated the fastest growing private company in the Inc. 500 list for 2010 and a leading retail energy provider, recently held its 6th Annual Conference, titled "Ambition 2012: Take Charge."
The event drew a crowd of more than 9,000 Independent Consultants from 32 states. The conference was estimated to generate as much as $10,000,000 in economic activity for the city of Dallas, prompting the city to sign an agreement with the independent electricity supplier to host the event in Dallas for the next three years.
"We have experienced phenomenal growth over the past six years and based on the number of attendees at this year's conference, we don't anticipate that growth to stop anytime soon," said co-founder and CEO of Ambit Energy Jere Thompson. "When we set out to be the finest and most-respected retail energy provider in the country, we did not anticipate reaching 1 million customers before the end of 2012, and that's what we're on target to achieve this year."
Ambit operates in several states with energy deregulation laws, such as Pennsylvania and Illinois, where residents have the option to compare electricity plans to choose one that best suits their energy needs.
