Back in September, Mercedes-Benz made headlines when they announced their all-electric SUV named “EQC”. The German auto manufacturer was reportedly going to deliver the new vehicles in mid 2019 but it appears that will be pushed back.
German magazine Handelsblatt reports that Mercedes-Benz plans to deliver the EQC electric SUV to some “VIP customers” as soon as June, but that actually meaningful delivery volumes may not start before November.
Still, many remain very excited for the release of EQC with its 280 mile range and 111 mph top speed.
The vehicle battery will be powered by 2 asynchronous motors with a total capacity of 300 kW (408 hp). It is reported to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds.
According to the spec sheet, the EQC is equipped with a water-cooled onboard charger with a capacity of 7.4 kW and has a maximum capacity of up to 110 kW at an appropriate charging station.
The onboard dashboard and navigation system has also been redesigned for the EQ models to take into account the electric aspect. The navigation will plan routes based on charging stations and state-of-charge of the battery pack.
Mercedes has not stated how much the car will retail for but it is estimated to be around $70,000.
