Being the smallest state in the US, it is also the 2nd most densely populated with over 500,000 residents. Rhode Island is one of the lowest energy consuming states per capita. Residents use the most energy in the states while the transportation sector follows closely behind. The Commercial and Industrial sector do not account for much of the energy usage.
